Law of France and Luxembourg

In addition to Czech law, Ladislav Drha specialises in providing legal services in francophone areas, particularly in France and Luxembourg. Thanks to our direct representation in these countries, we are able to provide highly professional services to our French and Luxembourg colleagues in a short time.

What sets us apart

Attorneys registered with the Czech Bar Association are authorised to provide legal services only within the framework of Czech law and international law (they must obtain a licence to provide services in the area of the law of another state) and therefore cannot, as a rule, express themselves on issues of foreign law.

We always have a French or Luxembourg lawyer involved in your case from the very beginning of our cooperation with you. This is what sets us apart from many other law firms, which usually only mediate contact or arrange communication. With us, you receive comprehensive services in one place.

Scope of services

At our firm, we offer our clients comprehensive legal services relating to the law of France and Luxembourg. We provide our services in all areas of the law of these countries, both in the field of advice and contract law (non-contentious agenda) and in the field of representation in court and other proceedings. The range of services provided in France and Luxembourg is identical to the range of services provided in the Czech Republic, which you can find in here.

We provide our services throughout France and Luxembourg.

Experience

Our law firm is currently representing Czech companies in several civil proceedings before the French courts. We also represent clients as creditors in insolvency proceedings with French companies that have been declared bankrupt. In the past, we have provided services to Czech clients in criminal proceedings and have also acted in divorce proceedings.

In our Prague office we have experience with French law and, given the number of cases we have handled, we are also familiar with the practical procedure of the judicial and administrative authorities of these countries. This knowledge and experience enables us to work effectively with our clients and focus on the information essential for successful case management. Similarly, our French colleagues have experience with Czech clients and are thus able to better understand the needs and interests of Czech clients.

Standards of cooperation

In our office in Prague, you will always have a Czech-speaking lawyer who will be your partner throughout our cooperation. Therefore, no knowledge of any foreign language is required on your part, you do not even have to travel anywhere. The high quality of our services is always guaranteed by the presence of our French or Luxembourg colleague during the resolution of your case.

All legal advice, expert analyses and opinions are always prepared internally by attorneys of the relevant state who are in regular practice in that state. However, you will always receive a statement in the Czech language with an appropriate explanation so that you can understand the matter in context and make informed decisions.

We also represent clients in administrative and judicial proceedings directly in France and Luxembourg. So if you need to file a lawsuit, recover a debt, or are involved in a court or administrative proceeding, you no longer need to look for a lawyer to represent you in these countries. In our Prague office we will discuss everything with you in Czech and take over your legal representation. We will take care of everything else for you.

We work with a court interpreter who translates the documents you give us. We only arrange translations to the extent that is really necessary, thus saving you costs. Because we know what we need.

We are registered in the list of francophone lawyers maintained by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Paris.

Our law firm is a member of
French-Czech Chamber of Commerce.
